Now that you’ve chosen the best handbag for your lifestyle, it’s time to figure out what to stash in it. No matter the size of the bag, it’s tempting to fill it to the brim with so-called necessities. I know I am not alone when I toss items in my bag just on the off chance I may need them. Before you know it, my purse is overflowing with various lip glosses, shadows and mini-products, and I’m never able to find anything. To prevent the dreaded bag overload syndrome, I’ve come up with a list of items to streamline your tote so you will actually be able to find that hand sanitizer when you need it.
In part one of this series, I talked about how to solve your summer skin dilemmas – now it is time to tackle hair issues. Summer can wreak as much havoc on our hair as it can on our skin. Humidity, heat and chlorine can change our silky, cooperative tresses into a dry, frizzy mess. We’ve scoured the web for the most effective products out there. Here is a list of tips and tricks to help conquer your summer hair troubles.
The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and you know what that means – time for beach days, barbecues and of course, patriotic polish! I’ve always been a fan of this warm-weather holiday, and I firmly believe you can show the U.S. of A some love without overdoing it. For a more sophisticated take on nationalistic nails, I created a tutorial that features nail art solely on your ring finger. By following our easy ten-step tutorial, you’ll be looking festive and fashionable just in time for July Fourth. If you’re looking for an extra fun patriotic pop, don’t be afraid to add a daring red lip.
Now that it’s June, all we want to do is go outside and enjoy the sun. In most cases we are too busy thinking about how fast we can get to the beach to stop and think about sun protection. We only remember after the fun in the sun, when we come home with skin the color of a lobster’s.
You can still enjoy the endless summer sun and protect your skin. Here are some tips to avoid unsightly and harmful sunburns, or if you do accidentally get a burn, how to speed up the healing process.
The first step is to choose a good quality sunscreen. Ensure that you choose a broad spectrum sunscreen that offers both UVA and UVB protection. UVB rays affect the outer layers of the skin and are responsible for causing sunburns. UVA rays are more intense and penetrate deeper. Their affects aren’t as readily noticeable, which makes them more dangerous, as they are linked to premature aging and skin cancer. You should select a SPF of at least 15. Look for key skin-protecting ingredients such as Avobenzone, titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 70 offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB coverage and is formulated for those with sensitive skin.
Nail Polish is about expression and an essential part of a girl’s beauty routine. Whether you’re at a job interview or partying with friends, your hands are always on display. The right nail hue for your skin tone can give a sure urge of confidence.
We know that walking into a nail salon and picking out a color can be a daunting, and it isn’t any easier at a drugstore. After about 5 minutes, at least two nails are marked with different strokes of color and you’re stuck between too many nail polishes or colors that just don’t quite work. Sounds familiar?
Fabulous blues, browns, and greys are a must this season have for polished fingertips. Check out our perfect fall and winter nail polish hues that work best for your skin tone and skip having to ruin your manicure with a color test.
