December has arrived! This month I’m focusing on my hometown, Long Beach, California and all of the wonders it has to offer. Located in Los Angeles County, Long Beach has grown over the years into a town full of adorable boutiques, seriously delicious restaurants and local markets filled with fresh produce. During December the town lights up from store front holiday displays to lit up christmas trees floating in the Alamitos Bay. All more the reason why I am happy to be home for the holidays this year!
Sawadeeka! For all of you non-Thai speaking folks, that’s “hello” in English. Bangkok, we’ve seen it depicted as a buzzing, culture-filled city (with dangerous, thrilling events thanks to The Hangover 2) but for those who have yet to travel to this amazing metropolis, it can also be the ultimate vacation destination for you and the girls! Here’s why:

Oh sweet summer time, you’ve finally arrived! Time to get out the swimwear that has been hibernating in our drawers since September and do some bathing suit inventory.
This year the standard triangles, bandeaus and one pieces are due for an upgrade this summer. Luckily, ‘itty-bitty’ bikini has evolved this swimsuit season, an evolution women of all sizes are thankful for. Designers have heard our cries and created swimwear for every girl and every destination this season: one pieces with sexy cut-outs known as a monokini, 1950′s high waists, one shoulder bikinis, 1970′s crochet looks, bandeaus, bustiers and graphic prints. Whenever I tell people that I’m traveling to Tucson, they always seem confused, typically asking me, “Do you have relatives out there or something?” I guess I never realized that my East Coast family (who has been heading to Tucson annually since I was in middle school) had found the hidden gem of American vacation spots. You really couldn’t scout out a better place for rest, relaxation and restoration. The sun is always shining over the picturesque mountains, and the dry heat is perfect for spending hours curled up poolside reading a book. Although it’s a quiet city, there is still plenty to do and see (and shop for!) in Tucson.

Forget spring break! You’ve been deceived by this year’s winter and you’re looking for a real winter wonderland to finally hit the slopes. Be it Aspen or Colorado –here’s what you need to ensure you’ll be skiing with style.
A down jacket is your safest bet to stay warm. But steer clear from a white down jacket, which is actually one of designer Michael Kors’ fashion don’ts. After all, who wants to blend in (and put on imaginary pounds) with an all-white down jacket when you can make a fashion statement? Since you’ll probably spend most time in your outerwear, ‘tis the time to stand out with colors. A bright turquoise jacket paired with a yellow beanie will make you the cutest ski bunny in town. Top it off with a hint of pink from these Betsey Johnson sunglasses and the DVF tote. Be sure to not overdo it by keeping the rest of your accessories neutral: black boots and gloves will give the outfit balance. Read More
