The Fall 2012 Guide For Every Budget: Goth Girl

I know what your thinking Gothic!?!  Bare with me I don’t mean the depressed, vampire bat, and creepy coffin stereotype. I was thinking more of the luxurious leather, chic crucifixes, sheer chiffon and elegant lace wearers. This season saw Gothic Glam featured on the runways of Versace, Gucci, Alexander Wang, Valentino, and many others. With key elements of religious imagery, acid tones, leather lace, velvet textures and capes, this is an easy trend to mimic no matter what your budget may be.

If you don’t fancy the whole dark side of the Gothic trend then look to the runways of Rodarte, Givenchy or Viktor & Rolf who choose textures such as chiffon and lace, giving a softer feel to the theme. Or, opt for grey and lilac hues which are less intense leaving you with a smokey romantic take on the trend. Similarly, splashes of red will add a brightness to otherwise dark looks but still keep you looking Gothic and glam.
