Here Comes The Sun (Glasses)

Size matters. Or at least, that’s the deal with sunglasses! We’re no strangers to celebrities rocking huge shades and have emulated them over the years— but lately, it’s not just about the size. Color, style, and shape have become important factors in choosing sunglasses. By now, we already know which shape and size suit our faces, so how about some experimenting with this season’s trends?

The Cat-Eye
Proenza Schouler and Anna Sui introduced it on their Spring/summer 2012 runway shows, and we’ve spotted them on Rihanna and Jessica Chastain. The cat-eye, with its horned rimmed frames and flared outer corners adds an instant vintage edge to any outfit. After all, style icons Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly introduced them to the 50s. We love how these frames sit comfortably on the face without pressing too tightly to our temples. A statement eyepiece with a good fit? Now that’s what I call a true fashion investment.

How to wear: Try a vintage theme with your own pair of cat-eye sunglasses! Pair it with a printed shirt tucked into a different printed palooza pants and finish it with a bold lip. Pick subtle prints to avoid a fussy, over-the-top look.

Whimsical Color
We love the Alice-in-the-Wonderland-esque heart-shaped sunnies as paraded at Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2012. This summer, stay away from your basic black/tan shades and opt for a brightly hued one! Neon is making a comeback, and the perfect way to keep up with this trend without looking like a day-glow stick is to pop on a pair of neon sunglasses.

How to wear: Try an all-white assemble for a clean, crisp look and make your accessories speak for themselves. Mix and match neon colors with stacked bangles, your sunglasses and an oversized clutch for an easy and stylish weekend look.

Full Moon
John Lennon popularized these babies back in the late 60s, and with all the hipster rage these days (hello, Instagram!) it’s no wonder why they’re making a fashion comeback. The full moon shades is your fastest ticket to look like a rock star. Thankfully for us, the full moon shades flatters most face shapes, and jazzes up any outfit.

How to wear: Think distressed denim, a white shirt, and a black blazer. Add the full moon shades to get instant rock star chic!
